Acuim UK Multi Cap Income Fund raises over GBP11m

MAM Funds’ Acuim UK Multi Cap Income Fund has raised over GBP11 million since launch in October last year.

Neil Bridge, head of business development, MAM Funds plc, says: “The Acuim UK Multi Cap Income Fund has had a great start demonstrating the demand intermediaries have for a diversified income stream, from the mid and small cap areas of the market, rather than being over-exposed and over-reliant on income from the large cap end of the market.  Since launch, the fund has already raised over GBP11m, in spite of the extremely challenging investment backdrop for OEICs sales generally.”

Fund manager and MAM Funds plc’s managing director, Gervais Williams, says: “Whilst we remain concerned about the knock-on impact of the continued squeeze on the consumer and the limited prospects for world growth, the fund was set up in anticipation of these challenges.  We remain particularly upbeat about the portfolio, which primarily comprises niche businesses that have been overlooked by most investors during the period of globalisation.

“Our confidence for these stocks stems from past experience that even during difficult periods, premium returns have been made in those with good and growing dividend income. Selecting individual businesses with these characteristics irrespective of scale offers us the greatest scope to deliver a portfolio that sustains these advantages. Additionally since stock specific risk remains high across the market, our widely diversified list of holdings means our returns will not be heavily impacted by a couple of poor holdings.”
