Signia Wealth Limited has appointed Chris Godding in the newly-created role of co-CIO and managing director. He will be based in the London office and will work closely alongside Signia’s existing CIO, Gautam Batra focusing mainly on institutional and charity clients.

In addition, Godding will play an important role in expanding the investment offering to clients, ensuring the business grows in line with the changing investment requirements of Signia’s diverse client base.

Godding joined Signia as Co-CIO and managing director after nine years at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management International where he was CIO and a member of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Investment Committee. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Chris managed equity portfolios for Moore Capital, SocGen Asset Management, Aberdeen Asset Management and BZW Inv Management. He has worked in London, Toronto and New York and has 25 years experience as an investment manager. He is a trustee of the Notting Hill Prep Foundation and has a degree in economics from Sussex University.

Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe, CEO of Signia Wealth, says: “The appointment of Chris Godding adds further momentum to the expansion programme and recruitment drive that has been building throughout 2011 and into the New Year.  We have made a number of high profile senior appointments recently designed to enhance our investment team, including Etienne de Merlis from JPMorgan Private Bank and Martin O’Hare from SocGen Private Banking Hambros as an Executive Director and Head of Investment Solutions respectively.

“Chris will be a crucial part of the investment team and will build on the strength and depth of Signia Wealth’s bespoke wealth management services that offer outstanding client service levels. We have worked hard to assemble a very talented investment team since Signia was founded in March 2010 and I believe that by appointing people of Chris’ ability and experience we will continue to attract new clients to the business while further improving our service levels to existing clients..

“2012 is set to be a year of growth and innovation at Signia Wealth and our recent high calibre appointments along with the opening of our new Birmingham office shows that our client proposition has been an exceptional success.”
