Swede success for GARS

RELATED TOPICS

Global Fund Manager, Standard Life Investments has teamed up with Swedish banking group Länsförsäkringar to distribute its award-winning GARS fund to investors in Sweden.

The fund will be available to the Swedish retail marketplace through Länsförsäkringar’s unit linked platform. Länsförsäkringar is Sweden’s only customer-owned and locally based banking and insurance group.

The GARS distribution follows on from a successful agreement with the bank in 2009 to manage a €230m European Corporate Bond portfolio.

Åsa Norrie, Standard Life Investments Joint Head of European Business and Head of Nordic Region, says: "We are very pleased to have secured a distribution deal with Länsförsäkringar, after a rigorous selection process. It demonstrates the strength and reputation of our multi-asset investment capability in Europe and we look forward to helping Länsförsäkringar roll out GARS across Sweden."

Annelie Enquist, Head of Manager Selection for Länsförsäkringar, says: “We follow a rigorous evaluation process with a high focus on the manager’s ability to deliver performance. We are now pleased to appoint Standard Life Investments for a global absolute return fund that satisfies our criteria.”

Launched as a UK Institutional Fund in 2006 and as a SICAV in 2011, the GARS fund aims to offer customers long term equity-like returns but with lower levels of volatility. GARS invests in a broad range of investment opportunities, covering both traditional and advanced asset classes.
