Bryan Garnier Asset Management (BGAM) has appointed Epiphanios Michael ‘Epi’ to the its Fund Management Team. Michael will be Fund Manager for the European Equities Long/Short product with full responsibility for the investment process and research on the Leadership en Actions Fund.

Steve Wallace, Vania Mareuse and the team at Bryan Garnier will provide Epi with all the support needed for the fund to be successful and for Epi to be an integral part of BGAM.

Michael joins from StormHarbour Alternative Investments, which is an European Long/Short fund based in London, where he was an analyst on European stocks until February 2012. He previously spent two years with Macquarie Capital Partners as a corporate finance analyst and from 2006 to 2009 was an analyst covering Asian stocks at Prodigy Capital Partners (long/short Asia Fund) in London.

Vania Mareuse, Managing Partner, says: “We at BGAM are extremely happy that Epi is joining us at this stage of growth in our business and welcome him as a key member of the Fund Management Team.”

“I am delighted to be joining Bryan Garnier Asset Management as Fund Manager of the Long/Short Equity Fund during this phase of expansion as the group develops its Fund and Private Asset Management business,” says Michael. “I intend to use my top-down economic/industry themes to uncover public equities that face significant shifts in earnings, both positive and negative. This strategy has served me well as a hedge fund analyst over the past several years, especially in 2011, and there continue to be significant opportunities in Europe where structural imbalances amongst countries and industries continue.”

BGAM is part of Bryan Garnier & Co, a privately owned European Investment bank focused on European Growth companies, with offices in Paris, London, New York, Geneva and New Dehli. The investment bank employs 150 Professionals across Equity Research, Sales & Trading and Corporate Finance.
