Peter H Sargent, CFA, CFP has joined Janney Montgomery Scott as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management, and has established Sargent Wealth Management at Janney Montgomery Scott, based in the firm’s Newtown/Yardley branch office.
Sargent, who previously was associated with Merrill Lynch for nearly 20 years, will be accompanied in his move to Janney by Christine Lindsay, senior private client assistant. He joins the firm with USD250 million in client assets.
"Peter Sargent is recognised as one of the top advisors in the country and is a tremendous addition to the Janney team," says Jerry Lombard, president of the firm’s Private Client Group. "Over the course of his accomplished career, he has established a substantial, successful and thriving practice by anticipating, and exceeding, the expectations of the high-net-worth clients he serves, and I’m pleased and proud that Peter sees Janney as the best partner to enable him to continue to build on that solid foundation moving forward."
"Key to my decision to move my practice to Janney was the fact that we share an unwavering commitment to excellence that is centred on the advisor-client relationship," says Sargent. “I am confident that my clients will benefit from my association with Janney. The firm offers many attractive features–an impressive and lengthy history of stability, a conservative operating philosophy, outstanding support resources, an experienced management team, and a culture that supports the entrepreneurial and aspirational spirit that I view as vital to the continued growth of my business. I’m excited to begin this new chapter in my career."
Throughout his career, Sargent has received numerous accolades and recognition for his accomplishments. Most recently, he was named to the prestigious 2012 Barron’s list of "America’s Top 1,000 Advisors," a distinction he also earned in 2010 and 2009. While at Merrill Lynch, he was selected as one of 14 financial advisors nationwide to serve on the National Advisory Council to Management (ACTM), most recently serving as chairman. Sargent also has been featured providing financial commentary on multiple national broadcasts, and was named to On Wall Street magazine’s list of "Top 40 Advisors Under 40" in 2006.
