Lyxor Asset Management announces its partnership with IKOS to launch the second alternative manager on its Lyxor Dimension UCITS Platform. With this launch, Lyxor further expands its offer of alternative UCITS funds.

The Lyxor / IKOS Futures Strategy Index Fund offers access to a diversified managed futures strategy which applies a systematic quantitative global macro approach to trade highly liquid listed futures. This strategy combines the use of econometric factors, time-series analysis and market micro-structure models, within an integrated risk management and systematic intra-day execution platform.

IKOS has been trading futures markets for over 15 years. The Lyxor / IKOS Futures Strategy Index Fund specifically aims to generate absolute returns in the global futures markets whilst maintaining low correlation with major indices and CTA. This strategy offers diversified alpha generation from different model families applied across five asset classes including bonds, rates, equity indices, currencies and commodities. Model categories include macro, fundamental, trend and counter-trend. These models are applied over a variety of timeframes, ranging from tick-by-tick through several months.

Elena Ambrosiadou IKOS’s founder and CEO, says: “We are excited to work with Lyxor on bringing our flagship managed futures strategy to UCITS investors. IKOS offers a strategic distinctiveness which aims to deliver consistent long term returns in different market environment and demonstrates low correlation with traditional asset classes and other CTA and hedge fund strategies”.

Backed by more than a decade of world leadership in selecting and monitoring hedge funds, Lyxor manages USD22.8 billion of assets in alternative investments and offers its clients the highest levels of innovation, transparency and risk management.

Laurent Seyer (pictured), CEO of Lyxor, says: “We are delighted to expand our offering by adding IKOS on the Lyxor Dimension UCITS Platform. IKOS strategy is particularly attractive and will meet investors’ needs as short-term CTA strategies are well diversified and they can better adapt to the current market conditions and as such should create value for investors.”

IKOS will be the second alternative strategy on the platform – after Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) – and Lyxor plans to launch more alternative UCITS funds in the coming months.
