Third etfexpress Awards honour industry in dynamic growth

RELATED TOPICS

The third edition of the etfexpress Awards for excellence among managers and service providers of exchange-traded funds has honoured firms that have particularly contributed to a year of dynamic growth for the sector during a year when some other investment products struggled for traction.

The awards, presented today at a ceremony and lunch in Mayfair, were decided by the votes of etfexpress readers, who include both investors and managers as well as other industry professionals at firms including fund administrators, custodians, accountants and auditors, law firms, consultants and distributors.

This year’s etfexpress Awards mirror the continuing dynamism of the industry and its success in appealing to a broader range than ever before of institutional, corporate and individual clients.

At the end of last year worldwide ETF assets stood at just under USD1.3trn, but the first eight weeks of 2012 saw the total rise to USD1.465trn, on course to meet predictions that the industry will pass the symbolic USD2trn threshold by year-end. In total there are now 2,800 ETFs worldwide, a number that grows every day, traded on some 50 exchanges around the world.

The industry’s achievements are reflected in the winners of the etfexpress Awards 2012, which are as follows:
