Berry appoints Cadman as Director of IFA Sales

Boutique private client wealth management firm Berry Asset Management PLC (‘Berry’), a majority owned subsidiary of the leading Geneva-based global private banking group, Bordier & Cie, has appointed Paul Cadman as Director of IFA Sales.

This is the latest in a series of senior appointments under Chief Executive Officer, Jamie MacLeod – Steve Croucher (who joined as Chief Operating Officer), and Richard Fellows (who joined as Director of Wealth Management), just two of the additions to Berry’s deeply experienced management team over the course of the past year.

Cadman, a 25 year veteran of the Financial Services industry, joins the Pall Mall based outfit from Quilter, where since April 2008 he has held the position of Senior Associate. In this role, Cadman was charged with distribution of the firm’s Discretionary Fund Management proposition, with specific responsibility for the London region. Over the course of his five years with the firm, Cadman has built considerable experience working with multi-asset portfolios – equities, collectives, gilts and structured products in particular.

Holding the Advanced Taxation Certificate as well as FPC 1, 2 and 3, Cadman has spent the bulk of his Financial Services career with Scottish Equitable – joining the firm in September 1995. He was formerly with the Clerical Medical Investment Group (1987-2005).

Commenting on the appointment, Jamie MacLeod, CEO at Berry Asset Management and a member of Bordier & Cie’s Group Management Board, says: "Over the course of the last year, we have made great strides in developing the firm’s proposition. We relocated from our long time home in Chelsea Harbour to Pall Mall last May, bringing us closer to our clients, our private client introducers and the intermediary community – and have invested in a partnership with SEI, giving us a world-class back office function. We have also launched a suite of Model Portfolios, creating an opportunity for those with more modest portfolios to tap into our investment expertise; that, in the face of the Retail Distribution Review, is a critical development, and will be an important plank for Paul as he works to build on the firm bedrock of our existing intermediary relationships.

“We have invested heavily in the business, in a number of areas, over the course of the past 12 months, our increasingly attractive proposition enabling us to attract market-leading talent. Paul has built a fabulous reputation over the course of his 25 year Financial Services career and it gives me the greatest of pleasure in welcoming him to the Berry Asset Management team. I expect him to play a key role in our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of both our clients and our introducers.”
