Sterne Agee launches Wealth and Estate Management Group

Sterne Agee, one of the oldest and largest privately-owned investment banking and brokerage firms in the US, has established a Wealth and Estate Management Group, serving clients with complex financial needs.

The Wealth and Estate Management Group takes a multigenerational approach to family governance, wealth transfer strategies, investment management, risk management, philanthropy and financial management. The mission of the group is to enable its clients to fulfil their financial and philanthropic goals and to preserve their family legacies for generations.

The Wealth and Estate Management Group is led by Hanson Slaughter who serves as its Executive Managing Director. Ann Haas and Barry McRae, both Managing Directors, round out the leadership of the group, which has over 60 years of combined financial services and family office experience.

“Our group offers the client a single point of contact for wealth and estate management which is particularly helpful in coordinating complex wealth transfer strategies,” says Slaughter. “The efficiencies gained in the coordinated effort allow our clients full access to the full breadth and depth of our platform.”

“The addition of the Wealth and Estate Management Group brings a new dynamic to Sterne Agee,” says Jim Holbrook, Chairman and CEO of Sterne Agee Group, Inc. “Putting clients first is paramount at Sterne Agee, and the Wealth and Estate Management Group allows our firm to better serve clients whose needs go beyond traditional brokerage services.”

The new group is a division of The Trust Company of Sterne Agee, located on the first floor of the firm’s corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
