ETF Portfolio Partners appoints David Vaughn as senior investment advisor

Exchange traded fund specialist ETF Portfolio Partners has appointed David A Vaughn has joined the firm as a Senior Investment Advisor.

Founded in 2004 by Richard D Romey, ETF Portfolio Partners serves individual and institutional investors by designing, implementing and maintaining equity, fixed income and alternative investment portfolios utilizing the 21st century’s most revolutionary and transformative investment vehicles, ETFs.

First introduced in 1993, ETFs combine the most attractive features of index mutual funds and common stocks. ETFs offer investors the tax efficiency, low cost and diversification benefits of index mutual funds and the liquidity, flexibility and control of common stocks. Today, there are over 1,200 ETFs available tracking every segment of the equity, fixed income and alternative investment markets, with total assets under management exceeding USD1.2 trillion.

“Investors are rapidly moving to ETFs because they offer a number of significant advantages over traditional mutual funds,” says Vaughn. “The basic mutual fund structure has not changed since the 1930s; ETFs are the modern version of mutual funds. Additionally, indexing is a very difficult strategy for most actively managed mutual fund managers to beat and the majority of ETFs are index-based. If an investor can pay a fraction of the fees associated with actively managed mutual funds and use an investment strategy that has historically delivered better results, I like the odds,” according to Vaughn.

Prior to joining ETF Portfolio Partners, Vaughn served in the same capacity with The Mutual Fund Store (Overland Park, KS) since 2000 where he managed client assets of approximately USD150 million. Prior to that, Vaughn worked for PaineWebber, managing both individual and institutional assets. Vaughn also worked at Prudential Securities from 1993 to1999 along with ETF Portfolio Partners founder and president, Richard D. Romey. Vaughn earned his BA at the University of Kansas studying Communications and Economics.
ETF Portfolio Partners, Inc. headquartered in Leawood, Kansas, is a fee-based registered investment advisor (RIA) specialising in the portfolio management of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs).
