He has spent 18 years leading and managing trust businesses in Asia, the Channel Islands and the Caribbean working with ultra-high net worth families and advisers to establish complex wealth planning solutions.
“Butterfield Trust has a strong reputation for providing bespoke solutions to a wide variety of clients and I am looking forward to applying my knowledge, particularly in terms of Latin and North America, and leading a dynamic team focussed on growth,” says Balleine.
Nelson qualified as a lawyer in the US and has more than 10 years’ experience in the area of trust and estate planning. She has worked extensively in wealth structuring and in business development in the wealth services arena in North America.
Bob Moore, executive vice president and head of group trust for Butterfield, says: “We have clear plans for growth across our group’s trust business and the Cayman Islands are an important and integral part of this strategy, complementing our range of fiduciary capabilities in key jurisdictions around the globe.”
