Standard Life Mutual Funds enhances income solutions offering

Standard Life Mutual Funds has launched two mutual funds, Standard Life Short Term Bond Fund and Standard Life High Yield Bond Fund, available to retail investors.

"Supporting advisers in meeting the needs of their customers is our priority. By launching these two new funds, we wanted to complete an already comprehensive suite of income solutions, especially in a context of low interest rates and high market volatility," says Patrick Loranger, manager, retail investment products at Standard Life.

The Short Term Bond Fund is managed by Standard Life Investments, one of the largest fixed income managers in Canada. Its investment objective is to provide a higher level of current income than traditional money market instruments while preserving capital and maintaining liquidity. The fund invests primarily in Canadian short-term fixed-income securities. They can be issued by the federal government, provincial government or Canadian corporations.

The Standard Life High Yield Bond Fund’s investment objective is to provide a high level of income and potential for long-term capital growth. The fund invests primarily in higher-yielding corporate or government debt securities of issuers throughout the world. The portfolio management responsibilities of this fund have been sub-advised to Standard Life Investments (USA).
