Invesco launches Global Opportunities Fund and Select Opportunities Fund

RELATED TOPICS

Invesco has launched the Invesco Global Opportunities Fund and Invesco Select Opportunities Fund, expanding its US open-end mutual fund equity product line.

Invesco Global Opportunities Fund is the first Invesco mutual fund available to US retail investors managed by investment professionals at Invesco Perpetual, one of the largest independent investment managers in the UK. The fund will be managed by Perpetual’s global equity group, led by Perpetual chief investment officer Nick Mustoe.

The fund’s management team places an emphasis on stock valuation, searching more than 40 markets around the world for investment opportunities regardless of geography, market capitalisation, sector and style. Those opportunities are subject to fundamental research and are then vetted through a process of dialogue and debate resulting in the construction of a concentrated portfolio with 40 to 60 holdings.

Invesco Select Opportunities Fund will be managed by a three-person team led by Rob Mikalachki, head of small-cap equities for Trimark Investments at Invesco Canada.

The fund invests in a portfolio of small capitalisation companies from around the world with demonstrated growth potential that are attractively priced relative to their prospective earnings and cash flow. Fund managers view themselves as business people buying businesses and consider the purchase of a stock as the purchase of an ownership interest in a business.

The funds are subject to the risks associated with its investments in foreign and developing countries. These risks include adverse political situations, less government oversight, currency fluctuations, decreased liquidity and possible instability.
