Boost ETP has appointed Richard Kent as head of product operations and Jose Poncela as senior in-house legal counsel.

With over 17 years of product operations experience, Kent joins Boost ETP from UBS Investment Bank, where he was a director in the equity and fund-linked derivatives team. In this position, he managed the launch of the firm’s Ucits and non-Ucits fund platform for a retail and institutional client base as well as bringing equity and fund-linked structured products to the market.

Poncela joins Boost ETP with more than 10 years of experience including roles at Nomura International as a vice president in its corporate equity derivatives structuring group, UBS as a structurer in fund-linked derivatives and ECM/corporate equity derivatives teams, and at La Caixa (Spain’s third largest financial entity and Europe’s largest savings bank) as in-house counsel.

Hector McNeil (pictured), co-chief executive of Boost ETP, says: “Boost’s intent is to lead the way in the European ETP market, with dynamic and innovative products that investors want. The appointments of Richard and Jose are significant steps towards this.

“Richard brings the depth of experience and knowledge we need to set up Boost’s state of the art operational infrastructure, and to ensure Boost has one of the most efficient product platforms in Europe. Jose has a solid legal and product development background that will add significant value to Boost. He has an integral role in bringing the product platform to market.”
