London & Capital to provide discretionary managed investment solutions for MPA

London & Capital is to provide a range of outsourced, discretionary managed investment solutions to MPA Financial Management.

Phil McGovern, MPA Financial Management’s managing director, says: “In preparing for the Retail Distribution Review, we have reviewed our business model, and as part of our strategy to expand our client proposition, we have looked to separate our advice and investment offering.  In doing so, we have segmented our client base into ‘MPA Lite’, ‘MPA Wealth’ and ‘MPA Discretionary’. We have grown MPA Wealth from GBP40m at the start of 2010 to more than GBP100m today, and as part of our overall review, we looked at the way in which we operate the division. We concluded that we should be working with experienced, external investment managers on our post RDR proposition, and we have therefore undertaken a comprehensive review of the market.”

Richard Leigh (pictured), managing director at London & Capital, says: “We have made numerous visits to Warwickshire over the last year, getting to know Phil and his team, exploring the ways in which we might work together.  We are therefore delighted to receive the firm’s vote of confidence. We are well placed to deliver MPA’s business objectives – as we have other IFA firms who are re-engineering their businesses to become RDR compliant – and we look forward to building a long and mutually rewarding association, to the benefit of all MPA Financial Management clients.”

London & Capital launched its Adviser Solutions business just three years ago. Leigh today heads a division of 10 individuals, with five business development managers based in the regions and supporting intermediaries at a local level.
