Europe, Asia US and global stock market indices all up in 2012, says STOXX

As of 27 December, 2012 stock market indices in Europe, Asia, the US and globally were up in 2012, according to preliminary data for the past year from global index provider STOXX Limited.

For the past year, the European, Asian, US and global markets were up 14.75%, 10.19%,  10.02% and 11.35%, respectively. The best global super sector in 2012 was the STOXX Global 3000 Financial Services Index, which was up 23.6%, while the worst global performer was the STOXX Global 3000 Health Care Index (-3.64%).

The STOXX Europe 600 Automobiles & Parts Index (+35.77%) was the best performing European super sector, while the STOXX Europe 600 Telecommunications Index finished bottom of the pile returning -10.17%.
