Stenham hires two for investment team

Stenham Asset Management has made two new investment team hires, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to both the institutional and high net worth markets.

Akshay Krishnan has joined the firm as senior research analyst, with responsibility for global macro strategies across the range of Stenham funds. His primary responsibility will be to work proactively on the Stenham range of global macro funds of hedge funds, which includes monitoring, identifying and providing detailed analysis of global macro hedge funds. He will also be actively researching new investment ideas for recommendation to the investment advisory committee.
Krishnan has seven years of investment experience and a strong background in derivatives and risk management. Prior to joining Stenham, he was a senior analyst at SAIL Advisors in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for leading research in relative value and global macro strategies. He came to the UK in 2011 and was responsible for establishing SAIL Advisors’ London office. Previously he has worked as an investment analyst at ING within its funds of hedge funds group and was also an associate at BNP Paribas within the hedge funds capital markets risk group.
Stenham has also hired Rishi Patel as a senior operational due diligence analyst. He will be assisting in the review of existing and potential new investments from an operational due diligence perspective.
Patel has seven years of investment experience and has previously worked as head of operational due diligence at Momentum Global Investment Management. He has also held positions in risk management at Credit Suisse; as a forensic accountant at Ernst & Young; and as an external auditor at Deloitte.
Kevin Arenson (pictured), chief investment officer, says: “We are delighted to welcome Akshay and Rishi to the Stenham investment team who bring with them excellent institutional level experience of both global macro strategies and operational due diligence. Stenham continues to focus on and remains committed to the institutional and high net worth markets. We have a very conservative approach to managing our clients’ investments with active strategy allocation; fundamental manager selection; and risk management being at the heart of our investment philosophy. Our investment process has evolved over the last 20 years to be as much about managing risk as delivering returns. We have a qualitatively driven approach with significant input to our investment decisions from our operational and quantitative teams which ensures there is a robust challenge to our qualitative view.”
