Miton strengthens US equity team

Miton has appointed Hugh Grieves as co-manager of the CF Miton US Opportunities Fund.

He will work alongside Nick Ford.

Grieves joins Miton from Herald Investment Management, where he managed the Herald Worldwide Fund. The fund achieved a five star rating from Morningstar, and performed strongly returning 24.6 per cent during his tenure.

Prior to this he worked for Societe General Asset Management and Gartmore Investment Management managing a number of US equity and technology funds.

The CF Miton US Opportunities Fund will seek to achieve long-term total returns by investing primarily in a portfolio of North American equities. The fund is expected to launch later this spring when further details will be announced.

Gervais Williams, managing director of Miton, says: “Hugh’s appointment to the Miton team highlights our philosophy of developing a business that attracts the very best industry talent. He has extensive knowledge and experience of the sector through managing a number of US equity funds, with a strong track record of delivering outperformance. Hugh and Nick worked together at Gartmore and so, collectively we have a talented team with a tried and tested track record in place, giving investors the confidence to support our new US fund launch.”
