RBC Wealth Management appoints business development director


RBC Wealth Management has appointed David McLaughlin as business development director, Ireland in its private client wealth management team.

He will report to Philip Harris, head of UK private clients.
Based in Dublin, McLaughlin will work with RBC Wealth Management’s client-facing professionals in London as well as offshore to develop, manage and enhance relationships with intermediaries and advisors in Ireland.
Before joining RBC Wealth Management, McLaughlin was an investor relations consultant at Elan – a biotechnology firm – tasked with developing the firm’s shareholder base in Europe. Prior to this, he worked in a Dublin-based private family office where he was investment adviser to an ultra high net worth Irish family for six years.
Mike Moodie, head of RBC Wealth Management-UK, says: “David’s appointment is recognition that there are excellent opportunities to support our ambitious growth objectives through partnerships in the Irish market. David’s personal and professional understanding of the market makes him a great asset, and his role will be crucial in promoting our global integrated wealth management services to local specialists.”
