Skandia launches ‘find an adviser’ tool

RELATED TOPICS

Skandia, part of Old Mutual Wealth, has launched a tool on its customer website to encourage people to engage with financial advisers who can give advice on Skandia’s products.

Although available to anyone, the tool has been primarily designed to help Skandia customers reconnect with a financial adviser if they have lost touch with their previous one.

The tool is accompanied by a range of educational content on key areas of saving and investment, including information about the Retail Distribution Review to help customers understand what it means to them and reinforces the benefits professional financial advice can bring.  There is also a link to an alternative find an adviser tool that is independent from Skandia.

The tool comes as part of Skandia’s plans to improve the digital services it offers to customers and is hosted on a new area of the Skandia website (finances.skandia.co.uk) that provides content designed specifically for people that have lost touch with their financial adviser.  Advisers who wish to be added to the tool should speak to their Skandia consultant for more details.

Skandia has written to all its customers that it knows have lost contact with their financial adviser to promote this new tool and encourage them to reconnect with a new adviser.

Skandia has conducted research with financial advisers about the type of digital services they would like to see made available to their customers. This research is influencing the new services Skandia is building for its customer website.

Peter Mann, UK managing director at Skandia, says: “The fact that we are building new digital services for our customers to use directly had led some people to assume we are building a direct to consumer platform.  I hope that this first launch shows our true intention which is to promote financial advice and help people engage with their investments in a more interactive way.  We know that many of our customers have lost touch with their financial adviser for a number of reasons and we are hoping that this tool will help them reconnect with a new adviser and benefit from the valuable services they offer.”
