ETF Securities (UK) Limited has appointed Mark Weeks as chief executive officer of the group’s UK entity with immediate effect.
He will continue to report into Graham Tuckwell, chairman and chief executive officer of the parent company, ETF Securities Limited.
In his new role, Weeks (pictured) will now be responsible for most of the group’s operations, whilst Tuckwell will maintain responsibilities for key corporate matters. Based in London, Weeks has worked with ETF Securities since 2009. With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, he previously held senior positions at UBS, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
“For the past four years, Mark has been instrumental in transforming ETF Securities from an entrepreneurial start-up to a strong operating firm which has adopted best of breed internal structures for compliance, risk management and financial reporting,” says Tuckwell. “He has helped develop our executive team into a highly productive collaborative group who continue to grow under his management style. This appointment continues my desire to devolve responsibility to a management team which is more than capable of taking on enhanced roles.”
Weeks says: “ETF Securities is in a stronger position than ever before. Graham created an independent global company with a strong platform for growth and I am pleased to be in a position to continue to evolve the business and further realise its incredible potential.”
