The Stonehage Group, a European multi-family office for ultra-high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs, has appointed David McLellan as an executive director and head of the firm’s London family office.
McLellan is the former chief executive officer of Rothschild Trust Group and member of the executive board of Rothschild Private Bank & Trust, where he spent five years based in Zurich leading the global trust business with its nine offices and 200 plus staff.
Prior to this, he worked as an international tax adviser with both international law firm Baker & McKenzie in Zurich and Ernst & Young in Melbourne.
Andrew Nolan, head of Stonehage’s family office division, says: “We’re excited about David’s arrival as we continue to hire extensively in the UK and Europe. With over 20 years’ experience in law, fiduciary and wealth management, David is well-known in the industry and brings with him a bespoke set of legal, financial and managerial qualities. Having run Rothschild’s Trust Group for five years, he has an expert understanding of the complex needs of our international clients. We know he will be key in facilitating the Group’s strategic goals and servicing our clients both in the UK and internationally.”
McLellan arrives as Stonehage’s second director-level hire of 2013, following Rupert Hague-Holmes appointment to the firm’s Jersey office in January.
