Following the last year’s charity bike ride from London to Paris, Swiss & Global Asset Management is embarking on a new g 340 mile cycle from Land’s End to London to raise money for Rays of Sunshine, the charity which grants the wishes of children with serious or life-threatening illnesses.
Swiss & Global will begin the four day challenge on 3 May, with Tim Haywood (pictured), fund manager of Swiss & Global Asset Management’s absolute return fixed income strategies, and Keith Rumbelow, head of UK sales, amongst the cyclists.
They will be joined on the new route, which is over 90 miles longer than the ride last year, by 12 clients from firms including Rathbones, Psigma, Hottinger, Taylor Young, HSBC and Brooks Macdonald.
Swiss & Global will be supporting this year’s event with a donation of GBP 7,000. The riders will cycle an average of 85 miles per day and climb more than 25,000 feet over the course, comparable to scaling Mount Everest, which stands at 29,000 feet. The sponsored ride will raise funds for Rays of Sunshine, the charity which organises trips and activities for children coping with serious illness.
Rumbelow says: “Inspired by last year’s event, which raised over GBP46,000 for Help for Heroes and Children with Cancer, this year’s bike ride is an even greater challenge through which Swiss & Global and our clients hope to raise a large sum for a fantastic charity. Rays of Sunshine is a tremendously worthy cause and one that will spur the riders onwards over the 340 mile ride.”
