Stirling House launches new generation of funds aimed at private clients

RELATED TOPICS

Stirling House has launched five funds of funds designed to suit differing investors’ appetite to risk and return.

Stirling House and Host Capital, the independent ACD (authorised corporate director), have appointed Sarasin & Partners to manage the investments of the five funds.

The funds reflect the growing demand from financial advisers for professionally managed multi-asset investment funds designed to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of investors. Host Capital is providing independent fiduciary oversight and Sarasin & Partners is managing the assets.

The Stirling House Funds will be available to all IFAs and accessible directly and/or via platforms and tax wrappers suitable for pensions and ISAs. The funds have already been offered to existing clients of Stirling House via their own advisers. In addition they will now be available to third party advisers who wish to join The Stirling House Partnership and benefit from its centralised business support functions.

The first four of the new funds listed below have been launched and the fifth fund- the HC Stirling House Adventurous Fund – will be launched later in the year. Stirling House expects to raise in excess of GBP100m as an immediate target.

HC Stirling House Defensive Fund – For low risk investors
HC Stirling House Balanced Fund – For low to medium risk investors
HC Stirling House Growth Fund – For medium risk investors
HC Stirling House Dynamic Fund – For medium to higher risk investors
HC Stirling House Adventurous Fund – For high risk investors

Neil H Francis, chief executive of Stirling House, says: “The launch of these new funds is the culmination of a detailed review into how we can best serve clients with a set of investment solutions matched to their attitude to risk and individual suitability. In our quest to develop a first class product we chose Host Capital, not just for their capability as an independent ACD, but for their in-depth understanding of our business, our advisers and clients, as well as their ability to guide us safely through the complexities of the post RDR regime. We are also delighted to have partnered with Sarasin & Partners, who bring high quality investment management and a reputation that all private clients seek.

“This initiative enables Stirling House Adviser members to focus on providing our clients with financial planning advice knowing client assets are independently managed by a high quality manager.  Furthermore, in a post RDR world, it provides a highly efficient model for existing and new advisers looking to consolidate their client investments whilst maintaining on-going relationships and benefitting from sophisticated centralised IT, support services and excellent administrative back-up.”

Andrew Thompson, head of wholesale at Sarasin & Partners, says: “We take pride in this appointment to manage the new Stirling House funds which have been extremely well structured by Stirling House and their independent ACD, Host Capital. The funds will benefit from our tightly focused risk parameters which meet the requirements of Stirling House and draw on our long-established global thematic investment process.”

The funds are authorised by the FCA as a NURS (Non-UCITS Retail Scheme), and are managed on a fund of funds basis with daily dealing. Minimum investment in the funds is GBP5,000 and the annual management charge is 0.70 per cent clean of all rebates and platform charges.
