Nerine Group of Fiduciaries has strengthened its senior management team in the British Virgin Islands with the appointment of a new managing director and the promotion of the finance director to deputy managing director.

Jonathan Bailey (pictured) is the new managing director of Nerine Trust Company (BVI) Limited. Bailey has more than 10 years’ experience working at a senior level within the private client sector in the UK and British Virgin Islands. He will be responsible for overseeing all Nerine BVI operations and staff in addition to taking a prominent role within the group for marketing and business development, with particular emphasis on wealth structuring solutions available from the BVI for both private and institutional clients.

Prior to joining Nerine, Bailey worked as an in-house trust lawyer at TMF Group, formerly Equity Trust, in the BVI from 2009. He was previously an associate solicitor at Harneys in the BVI and an assistant solicitor at Dickinson Dees in the UK.

Bailey says: “Nerine’s culture and core values are closely aligned to my own. The group is committed to delivering the highest level of service to an international base of clients and I look forward to being part of that.”

Wayne Francis has been promoted to deputy managing director of the BVI office after five years as Nerine’s finance director. Francis has worked in the BVI financial services industry as a financial controller and compliance officer for over 10 years.

Executive chairman Keith Corbin says: "Wayne’s talent and expertise within the BVI financial services industry has made him a highly valued member of the team. I wish to congratulate him on his promotion to deputy managing director.

“Nerine prides itself on the strength of our team across the BVI, Guernsey, Geneva, Hong Kong and India and Jonathan’s appointment, and Wayne’s promotion, is all part of our strategy to ensure specialist expertise across the group.

“We’re confident, under their leadership, our BVI office will continue to grow from strength to strength, and that clients from all our offices will benefit from their expertise.”
