Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has appointed David Jones and Richard Goodier as senior investment directors, specialising in the higher net worth offering.

Reporting to Jonathan Quick, divisional director and head of IW&I’s Manchester office, Jones and Goodier bring significant expertise and experience to IW&I’s private client team for the North West and will help cater for the strong inflow of new clients.

Jones and Goodier both join from HSBC, where they were responsible primarily for the successful expansion of the firm’s private banking services. Jones, who has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector, specialises primarily in investments and private wealth management. His previous role involved providing comprehensive financial planning to high net worth clients as well as small to medium-sized companies.

Goodier has worked in the finance industry for the past 14 years and specialises in high net worth portfolio management.  After spending nine years as an officer with the Royal Navy, Goodier joined BWD Rensburg (now part of Investec Wealth & Investment) before moving on to HSBC, where he managed a portfolio of mainly entrepreneurial clients as well as serving as the Northern team’s hedge fund specialist.

Quick says: “I am delighted to welcome David and Richard into our Manchester team, two very capable and highly experienced individuals, who are both well respected within the industry and by clients.  I have no doubt that they will significantly increase our footprint in the City and add a new dimension to our already well established and high-performing North West team.  I look forward to working with them both and remain very excited about our capabilities and indeed our ability to grow further within Manchester.”
