IW&I makes senior promotions in Liverpool office

Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has promoted Carl Cross and Simon Fontes to senior investment director in the firm’s Liverpool office.

Cross and Fontes, who have been promoted from Investment Director, specialise in portfolio management on behalf of private clients, pensions, charities and trusts.
Cross graduated with a first class degree in History from the University of Liverpool and went on to pass the Institute Diploma before becoming a Chartered Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute. He joined IW&I in 1995 as an equity analyst and has since helped to form the private client discretionary fund management department in Liverpool.
Fontes has a degree in Estate Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute. He spent several years in London working for property adviser Lambert Smith Hampton before switching careers to investment management in 1990.
To support strong business demand, four other employees in the Liverpool office have also been promoted. Richard France, Angela Taylor and Aled Jones have become investment directors while Greg Sinnott, a specialist in options portfolio management, has been promoted to associate investment director.
Jonathan Seal, director in charge of IW&I’s Liverpool office, says: “I’m delighted that the hard work of the Liverpool team has been recognised with these promotions, all of which are very well deserved and help us continue exceptional service for our clients. Their expertise and insight is valued highly by myself and the wider team and I look forward to continuing to work with them in their new roles. I am sure they will continue to add to the successes of IW&I’s Liverpool-based service proposition.”
