Oracle Capital Group, an independent multi-family office and wealth consultancy, has appointed former UK Secretary of State David Blunkett to its advisory board.

“I am very pleased indeed to be joining the advisory board for Oracle Capital Group,” says Blunkett (pictured). “I am looking forward to offering insights from a lifetime of engagement in both the public arena and private and social entrepreneurship, as well as taking a futuristic look at the world of tomorrow. I am also pleased to be able to assist with the charitable outreach of the company and to engage in events to facilitate the good work this entails.”

Martin Graham, chairman of the advisory board, says: “As Oracle Capital Group continues to grow, so does our advisory board. David is our fourth appointment so far this year. He brings a huge wealth of experience from his time both in government and opposition. He will add to the already considerable pool of talent that we have – talent which helps serve our clients, improve our excellent market position and expand into new markets.”

The current members of the Oracle Capital Group advisory board are Martin Graham, Roger Munnings, Lord Clanwilliam, Lord Limerick and Mark Browning.

Blunkett is the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough and was a member of Tony Blair’s Cabinet for eight years from 1997.

His responsibilities as Secretary of State have covered the Home Office, Education and Employment as well as Work and Pensions. Formerly leader of Sheffield, England’s fourth largest city, Blunkett has a wide range of experiences in over 43 years of work in both the public and private sector.

He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield (Department of Politics Crick Centre), visiting lecturer and adviser to the London School of Business and Finance and an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.
