RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Daniel Ellis as head of investments, British Isles.
In this role, Ellis will be responsible for leading the British Isles investments team and also joins the British Isles and Caribbean operating committee for RBC Wealth Management. He will oversee the implementation and delivery of wealth management investment solutions, working in partnership with the British Isles-based distribution and trust teams.
Ellis will be based in London and report to Stuart Rutledge, chief executive, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean. He starts on 1 October 2013.
Ellis joins RBC Wealth Management from HSBC Private Bank, where he was most recently a managing director and head of the private bank investment group – UK and Channel Islands, managing GBP12bn of client assets across UK and international booking centres. He has also held a number of senior positions at HSBC, including head of structured products, based in Geneva. Prior to joining HSBC in 2001, Ellis spent three years in Jersey working for Fleming and Lloyds TSB.
