Absa Bank to list NewGold ETF in Mauritius

Absa Bank is to list its NewGold exchange-traded fund on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM), with the first day of trading expected to be 26 July.

The decision to list on the SEM takes the number of exchanges trading the ETF to five following the fund’s admission to the South African, Botswana, Nigerian and Ghanaian stock exchanges.
First launched in South Africa in 2004, NewGold enables investors to invest in physical gold bullion with each share worth 1/100th of an ounce of the precious metal which is held by custodian Barclays Bank in London.
