RELATED TOPICS

Alternative exchange-traded fund provider ProShares is planning to launch a short-term, emerging markets bond ETF, according to a regulatory filing made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to the preliminary prospectus, the Short Term USD Emerging Markets Bond ETF will track an index that comprises “a diversified portfolio of USD-denominated emerging market bonds that have less than five years remaining to maturity (short-term USD EM bonds) issued by emerging market sovereign governments.”

Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80 per cent of its total assets in component securities (i.e. securities of the index) and invest at least 80 per cent of its total assets in short term emerging market debt securities.

ProShares has yet to announce a ticker for the proposed fund, an expense ratio or the exchange it intends to list the ETF on.
