Hartford Funds appoints Chris Poe as Head of Brand and Advertising

Hartford Funds has  hired Chris Poe as the company’s head of brand and advertising, a new role, with responsibility for building the company’s brand through advertising, public relations and internal communications.

Poe will report to Marty Swanson, Hartford Funds’ chief marketing officer, and is based at the company’s Radnor, Penn. headquarters.

“Chris will be instrumental in further defining our brand both internally and externally, as Hartford Funds continues to grow in the industry,” says Marty Swanson, chief marketing officer of Hartford Funds. “He has worked with some of the most reputable brands in financial services and we’re excited to add his expertise to the Hartford Funds team.”

Poe brings 25 years of experience to Hartford Funds, most recently serving as an independent brand and communications strategist in New York City. In that capacity, he provided consultation on brand architecture, positioning strategy, segmentation, value proposition development and marketing planning. Previously, he served as the managing director and head of global brand and advertising for BlackRock. In that role, Poe was responsible for the continual development and management of the brand profile, while ensuring consistent messaging globally, tailored to nine specific selling channels throughout the Americas, EMEA and Asia. Prior to BlackRock, Poe held various roles at JP Morgan Chase and Chase Manhattan Bank, among others.
