Merged Vanguard funds to offer new ETF shares

Vanguard is to offer new ETF shares when it merges the USD16.3 billion Vanguard Developed Markets Index Fund with the USD18.4 billion Vanguard Tax-Managed International Fund.

The funds share similar holdings and seek to track the same benchmark – the FTSE Developed ex North America Index. The merged fund – to be named Vanguard Developed Markets Index Fund – will also offer Investor, Admiral, Institutional, and Institutional Plus shares.

The merger is port of a wider streamlining process that will see Vanguard merge five funds in total.
