Brooks Macdonald International (BMI) has chosen Guernsey Cheshire Home as the charity to receive all funds raised from the company’s upcoming fundraiser.
On 20 November, the Guernsey stockbroking division of BMI will be donating all of their trading commissions to Guernsey Cheshire Home.
BMI asked clients, friends and members of the public to vote for their favourite local charity and Guernsey Cheshire Home was randomly selected from all of the nominations received. Guernsey Cheshire Home is an organisation which provides individual care and support for adults living with severe physical disabilities.
This fundraiser will be BMI’s second annual Stockbroking Charity Day, following last year’s event which raised more than GBP7,500 for the Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association.
Matt Watson, head of Guernsey at Brooks Macdonald International, says: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of nominations we received and are delighted that Guernsey Cheshire Home is to benefit from this initiative. Our team and the wider Brooks Macdonald Group are committed to supporting the local community and we are all extremely pleased that the funds raised will be going to such a worthwhile cause.”
Alex Jenner, events and fundraising co-ordinator for Guernsey Cheshire Home, says: "When I heard from Brooks Macdonald International that we had been selected as the chosen charity, it made my day. The Guernsey Cheshire Home needs every penny it can get just to maintain the very special nursing care our residents and day visitors require."
