US ETF assets up 4.8 per cent in October

US exchange-traded fund assets grew to USD1.6trn in October up from USD1.5trn in the previous month – an increase of a 4.8 per cent – according to a report from Cerulli Associates.

The report – The Cerulli Edge: US Monthly Product Trends – also reveals that US ETFs attracted an additional USD24.8bn in net flows during the month.
According to the report: “Strong asset growth for mutual funds (two per cent) and ETFs (4.8 per cent) were bolstered by a positive month of flows for both vehicles. In particular, flows helped ETFs this year, as the vehicle witnessed organic growth of 11 per cent October [year-to-date].”
