Edward Bonham Carter (pictured), CEO of Jupiter Investment Management, is to step down as chief executive after 14 years at the helm of the London-based money manager.

Bonham Carter, who led a private equity-backed management buyout of the firm in 2007 and later floated it on the stock market, is to be replaced by Maarten Slendeboek, Jupiter’s distribution and strategy director, on 17 March next year.

From that date, Bonham Carter, brother of the actress Helena Bonham Carter, will assume the role of vice chairman with responsibility for ‘engaging with key stakeholders’. He will report to Slendebroek.

Bonham Carter says: ‘It has been a privilege to lead Jupiter during the past 14 years. The company is well positioned for growth and it is the right time for me to hand over the reins.

'I have enjoyed working with Maarten since his arrival and he has the skills and qualities to take the company through the next stage of its growth. I look forward to helping the team execute Jupiter's strategy in my new role.'

Jupiter chairman Jamie Dundas says Slendebroek is taking over from Bonham Carter with the company 'in excellent shape'.
