RBC Global Asset Management has launched the RBC Emerging Markets Equity Fund and RBC Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity Fund.
These mutual funds will be sub-advised by RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd (RBC GAM-UK).
The new funds will be available to institutional and individual investors throughout the US. RBC GAM-UK manages USD1.5bn in emerging market equity strategies, as of 30 September 2013.
"We believe emerging markets provide an attractive long-term investment opportunity for investors," says Mike Lee, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of RBC GAM-US. "We are pleased to offer the expertise of the RBC GAM-UK emerging markets equity team to US investors. This experienced, London-based team is fully dedicated to emerging markets."
The RBC Emerging Markets Equity Fund seeks to provide long term capital growth by investing in equity securities of companies that are domiciled in or conduct a substantial portion of their business within emerging markets and trade in industries with strong secular growth trends. The fund seeks to emphasise quality and long-term growth at a reasonable price, combining a fundamental bottom-up approach to stock selection with a top-down macroeconomic overlay driven by long-term secular themes.
The RBC Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity Fund seeks to provide long term capital growth following the same philosophy and process of the RBC Emerging Markets Equity Fund, but focused on small cap companies.
Class I shares of the funds are offered solely to institutions and other US investors with a minimum initial investment of USD250,000. Class A shares of the funds are offered to US investors with a minimum initial investment of USD1,000.
