RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Tim Houghton as head of business development, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.

In this newly-created role, Houghton will be responsible for developing and leading a consolidated business development function across the Channel Islands, UK and Caribbean, representing RBC Wealth Management’s full suite of products and solutions.

Coordinating RBC Wealth Management’s distribution strategies across its key target markets, he will act as the key facilitator between the business’ manufacturing solutions and distribution activities.

Based in Jersey, Houghton will join the British Isles and Caribbean operating committee and report to Stuart Rutledge, CEO, RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.

Rutledge says: “Tim is a widely-respected colleague with proven experience of building and leading teams across multiple locations. He is perfectly placed to take on this important new role fostering our jurisdiction-neutral approach to business development.”
