Atlas Private Wealth Management has expanded its presence in the New York capital region with the addition of two veteran Albany wealth advisors.

Michael Hickey and Donald Carman join the firm from Albany Financial Planners, where they have been sole shareholders for the past 30 years.

Atlas manages approximately USD1bn in client assets and offers a suite of wealth management, financial planning, investment management, and tax services to a national client base.

“Mike and Don share our deep commitment to clients,” says Greg Britton, president and CEO of Atlas. “Their experience will allow us to expand our offering and serve more individuals, families and small businesses across the country. We remain committed to growing our business and look forward to attracting great clients and advisors to Atlas.”

Hickey will serve as the executive vice president, a member of the Atlas investment committee and managing director of the Albany office. He has more than 30 years of wealth counselling experience and offers guidance for life’s financial transitions, including counsel for clients who have received sudden wealth from an inheritance, legal settlement, lottery winnings or sale of a substantial asset.

Carman will serve as senior vice president, director of tax and financial planning in Albany, and brings more than 30 years of experience in tax preparation services for individuals, small businesses, estates, and trusts. He specialises in retirement plan allocations, long-term care costs, and education funding needs.

“The emphasis on client service and high-quality advice made joining Atlas a natural fit,” says Hickey. “By joining Atlas, Greg, and the Focus partnership, we now have access to greater resources and expertise, which will allow us to expand the services we provide our clients. We are excited to join a growing team and serve clients from around the country.”
