Baillie Gifford & Co is to appoint three new partners on 1 May 2014.
The new partners will be Tom Coutts, head of the European equity team and member of the EAFE alpha portfolio construction group; Stuart Dunbar, director in the clients department responsible for relationships with UK financial institutions; and David Henderson, director in the clients department responsible for Asian clients.
Two partners, Mick Brewis and Michael MacPhee, will be retiring on 30 April 2014 after 28 and 25 years with the firm respectively. Brewis is head of the North American equity team, and MacPhee is a portfolio manager on the global opportunities team and the manager of the Mid Wynd International Investment Trust.
The total number of partners will rise from 39 to 40 from 1 May 2014.
Andrew Telfer, joint senior partner, says: “These promotions reflect Baillie Gifford’s ongoing commitment to providing excellent long-term investment returns and service to our clients. The gradual increase in the size of the partnership matches the firm’s measured growth and reflects the increasing diversity of our client base. We wholeheartedly thank Mick and Michael for their contribution over many years and have great confidence in the succession plans that we have put in place as they prepare to retire.”
