Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Jason McAleer as head of dealing.

McAleer joins from Newton Investment Management, where he worked for 14 years, spending the past nine as head of dealing.

Prior to this role, he worked as a dealer at Sarasin Investment Management and Chase Asset Management.

McAleer replaces Jane Philips, who left the company in September 2013 after a 12-year career. He will be responsible for managing Jupiter’s team of eight dealers and developing the team’s capabilities as the company grows.

Rupert Corfield, head of investment risk and fund operations, says: “We are delighted to welcome an individual of Jason’s calibre to Jupiter. His broad experience and knowledge will be of significant benefit as we develop our fund management operations, both with regard to geography and financial instruments.”

McAleer says: “Jupiter is a highly-regarded company with significant potential and I am delighted to be joining the firm as it seeks to expand.”
