Prior to joining VAM Steyn was employed as a manager for Franklin Templeton Investments, leading the retail distribution arm for Africa, and before that he was a sales leader at a global brokerage firm and private bank.
Nigel Watson, sales director of VAM, says: “VAM has made major strides in the past six months with our funds under management increasing by some 40 per cent to USD700m.
“We are committed to capitalising on our presence in the established territories which include Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and Latin America. Our goal is to continue to widen our ‘global reach’ and support our distribution channels with the highest calibre sales managers.
“Steyn joins with a well established and respected presence in Africa and will make a major contribution to our growth on this continent. His appointment as another significant step in our development across all offshore markets.”
