Newton appoints head of global consultant relations

Newton, part of BNY Mellon, has appointed Julian Lyne as head of global consultant relations.

Lyne will be responsible for the direct oversight of Newton’s institutional consultant relations effort across EMEA, North America and Asia-Pacific.
Lyne joins Newton from F&C Investments, where he was head of global consultant and UK institutional business and responsible for managing their UK institutional proposition and global consultant initiative.
Prior to joining F&C in 2008 he was head of global consultant relations at HSBC Investments.
Colin Cowie, Newton’s commercial director, says: "Julian joins us with over 20 years of extensive investment management experience, specifically in the institutional marketplace. He brings with him the skills needed to lead the global consultant interactions across our global network and enhance our current proposition, ensuring timely, consistent and cohesive communication with consultants.  This new role will strengthen our current team and provide increased depth and focus to support our growth plans. Julian’s appointment is part of our long term strategy to increase our focus on our core investment strategies, deliver the highest level of service to our clients, and grow our business globally.”
Based in London, Lyne will focus on increasing and expanding relationships and delivering Newton’s investment capabilities to a broad institutional audience.
Lyne will begin his new role at Newton in July 2014.
