iShares expands bond ETF offering

RELATED TOPICS

iShares has expanded its suite of bond exchange-traded funds with the launch of the iShares Yield Optimized Bond ETF (BYLD), offering investors access to a wide spectrum of US bonds in a single trade.

iShares Yield Optimized Bond ETF is a fund of iShares ETFs with exposure to US bonds including:

  • Government bonds: US Treasuries (varying maturities), TIPS, and agency bonds
  • Investment grade corporate or floating rate bonds

  • Securitized bonds: mortgage backed bonds

  • Non-investment grade bonds: high yield bonds

In order to be included in BYLD, underlying iShares ETFs must have at least one year history, assets greater than USD100 million, and meet minimum liquidity criteria as determined by Morningstar. BYLD seeks to track the Morningstar US Bond Market Yield-Optimized Index.

Matthew Tucker, head of iShares fixed income investment strategy, says: “iShares Yield Optimized Bond ETF seeks to maximise yield while keeping risk in line with the broader US bond market. The addition of BYLD to our suite of iShares bond ETFs provides investors with another tool to help mitigate risk within their bond portfolio.”
