BlackRock Asset Management Canada has published the latest updated edition of iShares Connect: Canada Guide to ETF Investment Strategists.

The latest edition features two new fund managers, representing an additional USD600 million in ETF assets under management, for a total of 18 managers with a combined USD4.6 billion in ETF assets as of 31 March 2014.

The updated guide has added eight new ETF-based strategies in the most recent version, bringing the total number to 39.

“With the growth of the ETF industry, a new breed of advisors and asset managers has evolved,” says Ted Bader, director, iShares business development, BlackRock Canada. “We’re seeing that this evolution is very strong in Canada, as more and more managers seek to take advantage of the cost-efficiency and effectiveness of ETFs in expressing their views. The number of ETF strategists we’re tracking here has grown substantially in just a few short months, and we’re pleased to provide the industry with the definitive guide to this remarkable transformation in financial services.”

iShares Connect is a quarterly reference designed to help financial advisors, broker-dealers, consultants, program participants and investors in identifying ETF investment strategists or managers who deliver expertise in ETF portfolio construction and trading to investors seeking outsourced model portfolios.

Launched last summer, the iShares Connect guide offers insight into the industry by gathering relevant data on the strategies and the strategists who run them into a single reference guide.
