Alternative investment management firm Evanston Capital Management (ECM) has appointed Carl Gargula as vice president – business development.

In this newly created role, Gargula will be responsible for marketing in the RIA, family office, bank, broker/dealer, and financial intermediary channels.

“Carl brings a wealth of experience in the RIA and high net worth channels, and we are very pleased to welcome him to ECM,” says Adam Blitz, chief executive and chief investment officer, Evanston Capital Management. “Carl will organise our marketing and communication efforts in these channels and help us assess needs and trends within that investor segment. We are confident Carl will be a valuable contributor to our team.”

“I have known the ECM founders for many years and it’s exciting to join the firm and help leverage new business opportunities in multi-manager hedge fund investing,” says Gargula. “I look forward to working closely with ECM’s leadership and the entire team to continue the firm’s growth and enhance its brand and marketplace profile.”

Gargula joins ECM from William Blair & Company, where he most recently served as the Eastern US senior regional director and previously as manager of the firm's wealth management services and strategic planning areas. Prior to that, he headed global communications for UBS Asset Management and Brinson Partners, and also served as managing director and general counsel for the communications group at Ibbotson Associates.
