Pictet expands range of emerging market bonds funds

RELATED TOPICS

Pictet Asset Management has expanded its range of emerging market bonds products with the launch of the Pictet-Short Term Emerging Corporate Bonds fund, a Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS compliant fund.

The fund invests predominantly in short term emerging corporate debt and will have a duration of a maximum of three years.

The fund is managed by Alain-Nsiona Defise, head of emerging corporate debt, supported by a team of seven emerging market corporate investment professionals.

With interest rates at historically low levels, the fund aims to provide investors with an attractive yield and some defence against the negative impact on capital values of rising interest rates.

Defise says: “This new fund aims to offer investors stable income generation and lower volatility compared to longer term emerging market corporate debt. The fund is well-diversified and invests across all sectors and emerging markets globally.”

The fund is structured as a compartment of the Pictet Luxembourg SICAV and is UCITS compliant. The fund is currently only registered in Luxembourg. It will be registered in other European countries during 2014.
