Jupiter appoints Ross Teverson to drive emerging markets strategy

Jupiter has appointed Ross Teverson as head of strategy, global emerging markets.

In this newly-created role, Teverson will be responsible for leading Jupiter’s team of emerging market fund managers – Philip Ehrmann, Kathryn Langridge, Avinash Vazirani, Ben Surtees and Colin Croft – in order to attract and grow assets under management.
Teverson will join Jupiter in November 2014 after a 15-year career in Asian and emerging market equities at Standard Life Investments, including seven years based in Hong Kong. He worked most recently as investment director GEM equities, responsible for managing the Standard Life Investments GEM Equity Unconstrained Sicav.
In addition, Teverson, who was also a director of Standard Life Investments Hong Kong, previously managed institutional mandates including the Standard Life Emerging Market Pension Fund and, in his previous role as investment director Asia Pacific equities, the Asia Pacific component of the Standard Life Main Fund.
Stephen Pearson, head of investments at Jupiter, says: “Developing our global emerging markets capability is strategically important to Jupiter. We already have a strong team of specialist fund managers in this space and Ross’s broad experience and skills will help us build out our strategies on a global basis.”
Teverson says: "Jupiter has an excellent reputation for delivering strong returns to clients through its highly active investment approach and I am excited to be joining the business at this phase in its growth.
“The considerable breadth and depth of emerging markets expertise already at Jupiter provides a strong foundation for further expansion.  I very much look forward to working with the team in offering clients exposure to compelling investment opportunities in emerging markets.”
