Ossiam also passed the USD2 billion in assets under management milestone in June with assets under management of USD2.07 billion by the end of Q2 2014.This figure comprises approximately USD1.66 billion in smart beta ETFs and approximately USD407 million in institutional segregated accounts and dedicated funds.
The global ETF market stood at USD1.36 trillion in 2011 and is now valued at USD2.64 trillion as end of June 2014, representing growth of 77.4 per cent, according to independent research consultancy ETFGI.
Bruno Poulin, CEO of Ossiam, says: “We are delighted to have reached these milestones. Achieving them is testimony to Ossiam offering something distinctive to investors by combining innovation, consistency in performance, intellectual edge and transparency. The alternative-weighted index ETF market has developed considerably since our first fund launches in 2011. This is likely to be a long-term trend. Institutional and retail investors and their advisers have come to realise that alternative beta funds, including ETFs, can add value to their investment portfolios. We are grateful to our clients, partners, and Natixis Global Asset Management for supporting Ossiam to this point and we look forward to being at the forefront of alternative beta for a long time to come.”
