Wealth management group European Wealth has expanded its network of local and regional offices into the North West of England with the opening of an office in Hardman Square, Manchester.
The move follows the hiring of two regional wealth management professionals, Nigel Gilland and David Mellett, from Gerrard Investment Management in Manchester, part of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.
Gilland has worked in the Manchester area since 1992. He moved to Albert E Sharp in 1996, which became part of Gerrard in 2001 and Barclays in 2004. He was joined at Gerrard by Mellett in 2006; Mellett had previously worked within Barclays since 2003.
Rod Gentry, chief executive officer of European Wealth, says: “Since we commenced trading in 2010, we have expanded our geographic reach from the South East, to the West and South West and now, today, we are able to offer our services to clients in the North West. With European Wealth’s strong investment performance, delivering above average returns for clients, and an emphasis on delivering a personalised service through local, trusted professionals, we believe that the Manchester office will quickly become a significant element of the group.”
